Though either works in this chocolate chip cookie recipe, i love using dark brown sugar for extra flavor because it holds a little more molasses. I don't normally write a comment. What makes this the best chocolate chip cookie recipe, you might ask?

Did you make this recipe? I did lessen the white sugar to 1/2 cup and increase the brown sugar to 1 1/2 cups for a richer flavor. The high ratio of brown sugar and the extra egg yolk help contribute a rich, chewy, and thick texture with lots of flavor. Hard to believe there's not butter or flour or brown sugar.
